Privacy Policy for Orderry Companion Chrome Extension
This privacy policy explains how the Orderry Companion plugin (the "Extension") collects, handles, stores, and protects your information in strict compliance with the Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies, including the User Data Policy and Limited Use requirements.
1. Purpose & Functionality
The Orderry Companion plugin is designed with a clear purpose: to assist Orderry users in changing order statuses efficiently (e.g., bulk order status updates via barcode/serial number inputs) directly within their browser session. And perform bulk import (creation) of Orders, Assets or Leads into Orderry account. It does not perform any undisclosed background actions.
2. Information We Collect and Handle
The Extension collects and processes only one specific piece of User Data:
- Authentication Credentials: Your user-provided Orderry API Key.
You can find your API key in your Orderry account settings. You can read Orderry API documentation here and Orderry Privacy Policy here.
This API key is Personal and Sensitive User Data. It is strictly necessary to authenticate your browser session with the official Orderry API and fetch your account configurations. The Extension does not collect, read, or track your personal identity, browsing history, location, or any other web data.
3. Storage and Data Security
We prioritize the security of your sensitive keys:
- Local Device Storage only: Your Orderry API key is saved directly inside
chrome.storage.local. It is contained entirely on your local machine. It is never transmitted to us or any unauthorized third party. - HTTPS Encryption: All outbound data requests initiated by the Extension to your account endpoint are transmitted exclusively over secure, industry-standard cryptographic connections (HTTPS).
- Automatic Erasure: When you choose to uninstall the Extension, your saved API key is automatically wiped from your browser’s Chrome local storage.
4. Limited Use and Data Sharing Disclosure
In adherence to the Chrome Web Store Limited Use policy, we explicitly declare:
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your API key or data to any third-party brokers, marketing platforms, or data aggregators.
- We do not use your data for personalized ads, behavioral targeting, or affiliate monetization.
- We do not transfer your data to any external servers, except to pass it directly to the official Orderry API endpoints as required by the core functions of the extension.
5. Your Rights and Controls
You retain full control over your operational credentials:
- Wipe Data: You can delete your API key at any time by clearing your Google Chrome local application cache or using the extension's reset settings.
- Revocation: You can opt to uninstall the extension instantly to remove all stored metadata.
6. Policy Updates
We may update this policy to remain compliant with evolving Chrome Web Store ecosystem standards. If any changes modify our restricted data handling parameters, we will issue a proactive notification directly on our Chrome Web Store product listing page.
